Remodeling Process

The Remodeling Process

Undertaking a remodeling project can be a daunting task. To help homeowners understand what is involved, we offer the following steps:

Initial Communication:

When you contact Dutton Kitchen & Bath, we send you an introductory letter with a client questionnaire to help us prepare for our initial FREE consultation. It is helpful to have pictures and magazine articles for the consultation visit.

Initial Consultation:

During this hour to hour and a half in-house appointment, we will assess your completed questionnaire and any photos provided. We listen to your project dreams and discuss your budget. We will also advise you if your budget and remodel desires are in line with each other. If your project aspirations don’t meet your budget, we will help you with additional financing or discuss remodeling options.

Design Agreement:

Once a ball park budget is established, we execute a design agreement. This agreement authorizes our team of architects, designers, engineers and subcontractors to review the project and establish a project budget. During the design phase, measurements are taken, plans and specifications are completed, and decisions on product selections are finalized. Depending on the project size, this process can take from two to eight weeks. You are continually involved in the design process. You will never feel abandoned by our team.

Contract:

Once all aspects of the design process are complete, a firm price quotation will be presented for review. Upon approval of design, material selections and acceptance of firm price quotation, we will move forward with our construction contract and place your project in our construction schedule.

Pre-Construction Conference:

This meeting usually takes place two weeks prior to the start of your project. Our superintendent and designers review project schedules and details of your project with you. This is also the time materials are ordered.

Construction Phase:

During the construction phase, we will be in contact with you on a daily basis to keep you updated on the progress of your dream project.

Post-Construction Inspection:

At the end of the project, we will perform an initial walk-through to determine if every aspect of the project is completed to the homeowners’ satisfaction. Any items that need to be remedied are noted and a schedule is established.

Final Meeting:

Once the walk-through checklist is clear of all items, a final meeting is held at which time the homeowner receives any and all warranty information and house keys.

Customer Satisfaction Audit

After our final meeting, we request that you let us know how we did. Please take our customer satisfaction audit.
